Khotso Motsoeneng

KHOTSO MOTSOENENG is a self-taught painter and printmaker. His background in photography has helped me develop a good eye for colour and form. Khotso’s work is focused on finding an abstract way to bring together my observation of nature and his feelings about different colours and emotions. He is particularly inspired by woodgrain and plant life as a metaphor for human development. Khotso’s work has been shown in several group shows in South Africa and is in private collections both locally and internationally. He was a finalist for the Cassirer Welz Award in 2019 and the Emerging Painting Invitational Prize in 2022. His studio is in Johannesburg at the August House Artist Studios.
