Luvuyo Dlova

LUVUYO DLOVA , an artist from Geluksdal Brakpan, explored his love for art by studying visual arts as a subject in high school. After he matriculated he attended afternoon art classes at the KwaThema library where he was trained by Bra Pat Sithole. “I’m a visual artist but I like to refer to myself as a drawing artist because of the material that I use. I also don’t paint and that is why I call myself a drawing artist” – Luvuyo Dlova He uses charcoal and charcoal pencils coupled with coloured pencils for the background to highlight his drawings. Luvuyo’s work is about documenting everyday South African life that is specific to township culture.
